who we are.
Metcalf Wanderers Football Club (MWFC) is a not-for-profit [501(c)3] organization established in 2026 which aims to build a local football [read “soccer”] club in the greater Kansas City area that supports its supporters by providing access to a global sport via a grassroots model that serves children and adults seeking community on and off the pitch.
why a football club.
Kansas City welcomed the world during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. We believe the growth of football in our community should not end when the tournament does, but nonprofessional football in the United States is deeply rooted in a pay-to-play model that burdens thousands of dollars of financial responsibility on families.
Metcalf Wanderers Football Club is building an alternative vision where financial circumstance does not determine who gets to participate. Inspired by football clubs around the world, MWFC is governed by an unpaid Board of Directors and built around the core principle that investing in your club is investing in your community.
support us.
Your financial support allows MWFC to:
-
Keep participation accessible rather than passing costs to players and families.
-
Provide free camps and clinics to the community as the club grows.
-
Create opportunities for players to develop professionally on and off the pitch.
-
Establish a lasting football culture in Overland Park and greater Kansas City.
Every person has a place in MWFC: player, supporter, sponsor, partner, volunteer, parent, or simply someone who loves the game.
